Missing: 2 pairs of world travelers, last seen in Angers France

Dear parents and equally irresponsible friends of parents....

It has now been over a week since your last blog post. Your family misses you, your grandkids miss you, your granddog misses you, and your grandcats miss you. We are all eagerly awaiting an update to your blog, to hear about your continued adventures with the Nuns, the topless sunbathing in Nice (on 2nd thought...keep that information to yourselves!), and all of the fabulous cuisine and countless bottles of wine you've been enjoying.

There is no excuse for your lack of blogging...I know how plentiful internet cafes are in France, so dont even try to use that one.

I have given permission to T, D, and J to begin posting on this Redondo Family blog. Maybe our combined pleas for updated information will not fall upon deaf ears. :)

love and miss you

Fabulous, Frantic Friday

Friday, 7/19, what a wonderful, wild day!

We drove with Sr. Ruth to Mont St. Michel, the magnificent Benedictine abbey on the north coast. Truly incredible!!!

Then we drove to Bayeau and saw the spectacular tapestry there.

Then we drove to Omaha Beach and viewed the D Day memorials there.

It was getting late, so we stopped at a McDonalds(!!)to get something to east. About 1/2 hour after we left there, Lois realized she left her purse there, with everything in it. In a panic we went back to McD, praying (esp Sr. Ruth) all the way it was still there. It was, and nothing missing! By now it was late and we had a long trip back to Angers. The GPS system got us lost, and we were running very low on gas. Using maps only, we got gas at 1 in the morning and arrived back in Angers at 3 am!!! We were beat!

Tomorrow, on to Sarlat.

Angers, Thursday, July 17

Today was our first full day in Angers, after arriving here yesterday eve.
The Sisters here are very gracious hosts, and our rooms are very nice, although it is different from a regular hotel.
Everyone is doing well and our rental car is a beautiful BMW SUV with all the bells and whistles, but has made for interesting learning!
We hope all is well with all of you. More to come a little later on tonight.

Days 2 & 3

Hi All!

Yesterday, Saturday, we did the complete tour of Paris on the hop on/off bus. A wonderful overview of the highlights of the city. We spent the afternoon at Notre Dame, including Mass, and finished the day with another wonderful meal.
Today, Sunday, we learned to use the metro, took in the Louvre in the morning and the Musee d'Orsay in the afternoon. Both were treats! We just got back to our hotel after dinner and are planning our last full day in Paris tomorrow.
We hope all is well with all of you!
Love!

France, here we come!

Three more days and we are on our way! Everything seems to be in place, and what remains is getting the homestead ready and final packing. It is hard to believe that this time next week we will be in Paris!
Orwell, Vermont, you're next!
