Fabulous, Frantic Friday

Friday, 7/19, what a wonderful, wild day!

We drove with Sr. Ruth to Mont St. Michel, the magnificent Benedictine abbey on the north coast. Truly incredible!!!

Then we drove to Bayeau and saw the spectacular tapestry there.

Then we drove to Omaha Beach and viewed the D Day memorials there.

It was getting late, so we stopped at a McDonalds(!!)to get something to east. About 1/2 hour after we left there, Lois realized she left her purse there, with everything in it. In a panic we went back to McD, praying (esp Sr. Ruth) all the way it was still there. It was, and nothing missing! By now it was late and we had a long trip back to Angers. The GPS system got us lost, and we were running very low on gas. Using maps only, we got gas at 1 in the morning and arrived back in Angers at 3 am!!! We were beat!

Tomorrow, on to Sarlat.

what a crazy day! You had a sister in the car...why werent you using something (or someone!) more high powered than your GPS to get you back! :)

sound like quite an adventure so far....hope you're having lots of fun.
I also wanted you to know that we are back from the lake, and have 3 little water-rats now. Also, S. tried the waterski trainer! I never thought he'd do it.
But we are beat and will go to bed super early.
Love Joni
